About the Author & Work - Anne Pratt was one of the best known English botanical illustrators of the Victorian age. Due to an impaired knee and poor health, Pratt was encouraged to occupy herself with drawing. Botany was considered an appropriate interest for a young lady, so Pratt was educated in botany at Eastgate House, Rochester. In 1826 she moved to Brixton and began her career as a botanical illustrator. Pratt wrote & illustrated 20 works. It is from her work " The Flowering Plants, Grasses, Sedges, and Ferns of Great Britain" that the print(s) come. Each print measures approximately 9 1/4 x 6 inches. Condition notes for this listing - Prints are in good condition on toned paper. No descriptive text or title page will be included.
